These Terms of Service govern your use of the Build The Show platform. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on Build The Show, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf. For users under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account.
2. Who Can Use the Platform
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account directly. Users under 13 may only use the platform through a parent or guardian-managed account.
By creating an account, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is accurate and complete
- You are at least 13 years of age, or a parent/guardian is creating the account on behalf of a child under 13
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these terms (or a guardian has done so on your behalf)
3. Accounts and Profiles
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone.
One account (identified by your Member ID) may contain multiple profiles representing different individuals. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not create accounts on behalf of someone else without their knowledge and consent.

4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information in your profile or in audition submissions
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization
- Upload content that is offensive, harmful, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or harm any individual
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the platform
- Impersonate any person or organization
5. Content You Upload
You retain ownership of any content you upload to the platform, including headshots, documents, and other files.
By uploading content, you grant Build The Show a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and use that content for the purpose of operating the platform (for example, showing your headshot to an organization you have auditioned for).
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you submit. Do not upload photos or files that belong to someone else without their permission.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
5A. Content Ownership Warranty
By uploading any content to Build The Show - including headshots, profile photos, documents, or any other files - you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the copyright in the content, or have been granted an explicit license to reproduce, display, and store it digitally; (b) the content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party; and (c) you have obtained any necessary consents from individuals who appear in photos or videos. If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, please review our Copyright Policy.
6. Platform Availability
We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from platform downtime or technical issues.
We recommend that organizations maintain their own backups of critical production information.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, at our sole discretion and without prior notice in serious cases.
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your personal data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
Build The Show is provided as-is. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the platform's fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, missed casting opportunities, or disputes between users and organizations.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the preceding 12 months.
We are not responsible for the conduct of users, organizations, or third parties using the platform.
Third-Party Links
Build The Show may contain links to websites operated by third parties, including organization websites, social media pages, and external ticketing platforms. These links are provided for convenience only. Build The Show does not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website. When you follow a link to an external site, you leave the Build The Show platform and its privacy protections. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit. Users are solely responsible for any links they add to their content. Links to harmful, illegal, deceptive, or infringing content are prohibited and may result in account suspension.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute related to your use of Build The Show, we encourage you to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it directly.
Step 1: Contact Us: Submit your complaint to [email protected]. Include a description of the issue and what resolution you are seeking. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days.
Step 2: Internal Review: We will review your complaint and provide a written response within 30 days. For urgent matters involving account access or data security, we will respond within 5 business days.
Step 3: Escalation: If you are not satisfied with our response, for privacy-related complaints you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376. For other disputes, you may pursue resolution through the courts of British Columbia.
Recording & Photography at Productions
Organizations using Build The Show to manage auditions and productions agree to: (a) obtain explicit written consent from participants - and from parents or guardians of participants under 18 - before recording, photographing, or distributing their image or likeness in any form; (b) use participant images only for the purposes disclosed at the time consent was obtained; (c) remove any published images or recordings promptly upon request from the individual or their guardian; (d) comply with all applicable Canadian privacy laws governing the collection and use of personal images. Build The Show is not responsible for an organization's failure to obtain proper consent. Organizations are solely responsible for their own recording and photography practices.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or platform notice. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
