1. Our Commitment

Build The Show is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that everyone, regardless of ability, should be able to discover opportunities, manage productions, and participate in the performing arts community through our platform. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

2. Conformance Status

Build The Show aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. We also aim to comply with:

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), which requires new websites to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA
The Accessible Canada Act (ACA), which sets a target of a barrier-free Canada by 2040
The European Accessibility Act (EAA), which took effect June 2025

3. Known Limitations

We are actively working to identify and address accessibility barriers across the platform. While we work toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas are still being improved. If you encounter content that is not accessible, please contact us. Your feedback directly helps us prioritize improvements.

4. Technical Specifications

Accessibility features across the platform include visible form labels (not just placeholder text), descriptive error messages, sufficient colour contrast, keyboard navigation support, and descriptive alt text on images.
